Civic Tech @ CARTE: Civic Hacknight #469: Data Visualization at Toronto Public Health
November 12 @ 7:00 pm - 9:00 pm
Topic: Data Visualization at Toronto Public Health
Speaker:
Tamara Augsten is a data visualization specialist with a background in policy development and urban planning with a passion for making data interesting, meaningful and actionable. She currently works with Toronto Public Health’s Data Analytics and Epidemiology team and have been developing both internal and public-facing dashboards since the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Toronto Public Health’s COVID-19 public dashboards have been viewed over 40 million times (https://www.toronto.ca/home/covid-19/covid-19-pandemic-data/). Prior to working with TPH, I used my policy development, data analysis, and visualization expertise to help lead Raising the Village (www.raisingthevillage.ca ) – an initiative to provide communities with data and research to measure the well-being of Toronto’s children and families.
